Some think that they are a charter school, but they are not. To get accepted to this school, you must show that you belong there. There is a merit based application.
Alameda Science and Technology Institute in Alameda, California
This is a smaller school, but still ranked one of the top high schools for science and technology. They accept students from grades 9 and 10. There is an application process for this school, as well.
